English Words causes Embarrasment US Elections Special.

Here is 2 scenarios of what happened to me.

1)
venue: 2 old women and me.
watching news. News line: Mrs Hassan's abduction. Care International

Old woman 1: Why does that woman cry.
Me: well she is kidnapped. Poor her. She came to serve us and she ended up in terrorists hands.
Old woman 2: What was she doing ?
Me: She was working for CARE (In Kurdish, it sounds KIR (means d*ck)
Old woman1: Ayarooo (Oh my lord). she works for KIR ?!
Old woman2: She couldn't find enough KIRs in her own country ?
ME: NO NO NO NO...not bloody KIR. CARE CARE...
Old woman1: Ay dawasheyt (Shame on you) stop it KIR KIR. Respect elderies.
Old woman2: Yeah right. Weren't you properly educated not to talk about things like that with elderies?
ME: NOOOOOOOO..You guys need to learn English. CARE is not KIR.
Old woman1: So what is it ? Why don't u teach us u with your English ?
Old woman2: Oh
ME: "Interepting"...CARE is something she was doing..Poor Mrs Hassan was taking CARE of us. It means "chawderi". !
Woman 1 & 2: now you talking Kurdish...

Scenario 2: Watching news with an old man.
News line: US elections. Bush Vs Kerry.
ME: This is about the US elections.
Old Man: So, we will stay the same. No changes for us.
ME: Yeah true.. but still..it is fun to see who wins.
Old Man: I Know BOSH (Bush), who is his opponent ?
ME: KERRY (In Kurdish sounds KIRI (means "his d*ck")
Old Man: Akkkkk dawsheyt basha... KIRI ke ? (shame on you) who's KIR ?
ME: NO NO NO....Kerry u Bush (Kerry & Bush).
Old Man: Bosh's one ?
ME: NO NO that is a name KERRY.
Old Man: KIRI is a name ? It is the end of the world.
ME: Why ? He is American not Kurdish.
Old Man: Oh whatever. I will vote for BOSH.
ME: You can't vote. You are not American.
Old Man: Next time I see an American I tell him/her to vote for BOSH.
ME: Why?
OLD MAN: I don't want my face to go red everytime I say the name of the US president.

(Most Kurds support BUSH (BOSH) because they think he has removed Saddam Hussein. But most agree that even if KERRY comes to power, it would be hard to change US policies towards Kurds or Iraq).

Good news from Kurdistan

I have some very good news from Kurdistan.
1) The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is going through some major democratic changes.
The PUK senior members and its general secretary Jalal Talabani, are now in negotiation over pushing the PUK over to the European styled democratic parties.

2) The Kurdish political parties will enter the Iraqi elections united and with a single list.
This is something very exciting for people in Kurdistan. As everyone might know by now there is not a single Iraqi political group winning hearts of everyone. Every single political party in Iraq has its infuleuce in some parts of the country.

Kurds entering the elections united, might give fantastic results. I doubt it that any Kurds will vote for any non-Kurd political parties. I also doubt that any Arabs would vote for a Kurdish political party.
Thus, estimated 3 Million Kurdish voters (out of 12 Millions Iraq) will give 1/4 of the Iraqi elections.
The other 9 Million Iraqi voters, are divided between Shia political parties, Sunni Iraqi nationalists etc.
I predict that Kurds will be one of the winners between the Sunni-Shia power struggle in Iraq (that is if Iraqi political parties DON'T UNITE).
So be ready for surprises.

3)The Kurdistan general elections is still something that worries people. It is like Bush & Kerry, both PUK & KDP are quite balanced when it comes to supporters. It is not like everyone LOVES PUK & KDP, but they have no other choices.
But with the current changes within the PUK, it might produce some shifts towards the PUK.

P.S. I will fix up the links section very soon :)

Kurds found in Iraqi mass-graves

Kurds as young as unborn babies were found in mass grave near Hatra.
These people were the victims of Anfal genocide operation, in which more than 182, 000 Kurds were killed by the ex-Iraqi government.

These people were killed, because they were "demanding their self-determination-rights".

The new Iraqi government, not to Kurds' surprise, has issued another warning to Kurds, that mass-graves like these will be created again, if Kurds ask for independence.
The Iraqi President, Ghazi Ajeel Al-Yawar, last week issued a warning to Kurds saying that "He will use all his power" if Kurds ask for self-determination-rights.

So why blame Saddam ?! He was only doing what the current Iraqi president promised Kurds. Saddam was just using all his power to suppress Kurds from self-determination-rights.
Luckily, Ghazi Ajeel Al-Yawar's current power is absolute nothing. His country (Thankfully) is occupied and he can't "use all his power" to suppress Kurds at this moment.
Condemnation of the Iraqi President's warning is everywhere in Kurdistan. I am sure if he comes to Kurdistan (that is if he dares), he will be greeted with eggs.

I hope that President Bush will not say "We liberated these people from a tyrant like Saddam", where Saddam was only doing what the current Iraqi President is promising to do.

Iraqis haven't changed their politics towards Kurds.

After the massive demonestrations on Saturday in some Kurdistan cities including Kirkuk, demanding full independence and the return of Kirkuk to Kurdistan, the current un-elected Iraqi President repeated the words of Saddam Hussein when he was asked what he thinks about Kurds demanding independence :

This is not something we could accept and we will counter this with all our power,"
All their power ?
Saddam said the same, he actually used all his power, even chemical weapons. But at the end we taught him a lesson he would never forget for the remaining days of his life.

After repeating the words of Saddam Hussein by the current Iraqi President, the Kurdish leaders are betraying their people for staying another hour within Iraq.

Yes for a peaceful Kurdistan. No to Iraq and its practise of terror and genocide against Kurds.
